AS much as

Julie Andrews fans would love to see her return to Broadway, don't hold your breath. West Coast gossiper Billy Masters of billymasters.com says Andrews was asked to star in the West End production of "Mary Poppins" but balked because she "is holding out for Broadway," but don't believe it. Andrews had surgery to remove throat polyps in 1997. She later sued the surgeon for $30 million, claiming her voice was ruined and she could never sing again. The case was settled out of court. Plus, as one theater insider said, "Mary Poppins has to fly. They're not going to wire up a 70-year-old woman and dangle her over the stage."
