Julie Andrews' New Book and Song
to Benefit
BC/EFA

"Julie Andrews' new book and song to benefit BC/EFA" Julie Andrews has given a
joyful gift to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS. With the release of her
latest children's book, "The Great American Mousical", co- authored with her
daughter Emma Walton Hamilton (HarperCollins Publishers, May 2006), she has
recorded a brand new song entitled - appropriately - "The Show Must Go On!".
Julie and Emma are donating a portion of their sales proceeds from both the book
and the song to BC/EFA.
"The Show Must Go On!" marks one of the few times
Julie has sung professionally since throat surgery robbed her of her singing
voice nearly a decade ago. The song was created to enhance reader experience of
the book, in which a troupe of theatrical mice live and perform in a miniature
world beneath Broadway, and to accompany the new web-game that features the
Mousical characters.
"Broadway Cares is such an exceptional
organization," says Julie, who has been a long-time supporter and has performed
at benefits to aid BC/EFA in years past. "Since the mice in the story are
rehearsing for their own benefit performance, 'Broadway Airs', it seemed
appropriate to donate part of our sales proceeds to them."
Now you can
download your own personal mp3 copy of the song - and benefit BC/EFA in the
process! You can play it on your iPod, use it as a ringtone... even make
multiple purchases and send them as gifts to friends and family!
